When Inspired Catering decided to move its popular Breakfast with Santa from the D.D. and Velma Davis Education & Visitor Center in Mill Creek MetroParks to the Von Isley Estate in Niles, we knew the event branding had to change, too.

The recently renovated 7,500-square-foot mansion was built in 1914 as a family home and reopened this year after the new owners brought the gorgeous woodwork and charming décor back to their original brilliance. (The unique overnight rooms, spacious Celebration Hall, and outdoor ceremony space are worth a visit!) The client wanted the look of the brand and collateral materials to reflect the era of this new location.

At the turn of the century, The Life and Adventures Of Santa Claus by L. Frank Baum, with its elaborations and much-added detail, went a long way to popularizing the legend and look of Santa. So, I sought out a playful yet illustrative Old World Santa with vintage flair. He was placed on what might be vintage parchment, and we then implemented text fonts that harkened back to early newspaper advertisements. The graphics are fresh, not your typical Santa imagery and commercial Christmas look and feel. Being part of the magic for our clients who love spreading holiday cheer is always a treat!
