Marketing Resolutions

By Valentine J. Brkich – Staff Writer

We trade holiday cookies for calendars and to-do lists this month, making it the perfect time to reset how you show up, grow, and connect. In this month’s feature, we’re breaking down three practical (and slightly humorous) marketing resolutions that can help you find more customers, strengthen your brand, and finally get serious about social media—without burning out by February.

How do you do this? By committing to my three New Year’s Marketing Resolutions! Now, I know studies show that 80% of people abandon their resolutions by mid-February. But not you! I have faith in you! If you put in the work and make a commitment, I’m sure you’ll make it to at least mid-March, if not longer!

So, without further ado, here are three effective marketing resolutions to help you achieve success in 2026!

Find More Customers
This one seems like a no-brainer. If you want to grow your business, you must increase your client base. How do you do this? By leveraging your connections, providing unmatched customer service, and making sure you’re getting the most out of your digital marketing tools. You could also just stand on the corner wearing an eye-catching sandwich board, but that might be a little uncomfortable during these frigid winter months.

Strengthen Your Brand
When it comes to marketing success, your brand is crucial. Not only does a strong brand build recognition, trust, and loyalty, but it also fosters an emotional connection with your customers, which leads to more sales and a stronger market position. You achieve this by defining your core mission and values, understanding your target audience, and maintaining consistency across all of your marketing channels. Or, if you’re a multi-billionaire, you can just buy the Coca-Cola Company and rake in the bucks!

Supercharge Your Social Media
So much of your marketing success depends on your social media efforts. Focus on authentic engagement. Share high-quality video content. Integrate social shopping and make sure your profiles are SEO-optimized. Most of all, be consistent with your posts across all of your social media accounts. You might also want to try posting more pictures and videos of puppies. People love puppies!

So, there you have it—my three recommended resolutions for improving your marketing success in 2026. Can I guarantee that if you follow my advice, you’ll grow your company and increase your revenue? Well…honestly, no. (My company’s lawyers told me I can’t.) That said, I can guarantee that you’ll feel a level of gratification, knowing that you put in the work and took the necessary steps to achieve success.

Besides, there’s always next year, right?
